Casa Palmeria

Post by tricky »

Opposite the Market. Typical portuguese, a bit like Escondido but with a menu.
I think its the only place in Carvoeiro that does a cataplana for one. We had a really nice meal and would go again. Very reasonably priced and the owner
is veryfriendly. (avoid the sole house style, a bit sickly though)

Do you mean 'Palmeira'?

We've been going there for years, good food and very reasonable prices, although I think it's quite a bit better than Escondidinho

A Fonte used to offer Cataplana or Seafood Rice for one person, have they stopped?

Yes thats the one Chaucer. I only referred the restaurant as being like Escondido to illustrate that it was a typical portuguese restaurant
and not touristy, I agree it is much better. Not sure about A fonte and single cataplanas

We too have eaten at A Palmeira many times over the years. Go up the hill past the Municipal market, at cross roads turn right, and the restaurant is on the left a short way up. Had free wi-fi last time we were there.
