Can the IRS Declaration be completed online in the finances portal?? If so can anyone tell me the menu path please. Thanks

Thank you. I read somewhere you have to fill it in in May. Can I do it before?

You can only submit a return once the system allows it. If you try now, you'll see that the most recent year available is 2017. The opportunity to file 2018's return will probably become available in April-ish.

Ok. Thanks. Is it very complicated? I only have villa rental earnings to declare and I understand there's no need for expenses because they just charge a flat rate of the gross.

If it's your first IRS return it's more difficult. You will need to understand and declare the appropriate figures to answer the "Houve afetação de imóveis a atividade empresarial ou profissional?" question in Anexo B and work out how to complete the Anexo SS. Seeking professional help and advice might be beneficial long-term.
