I hadn't seen mention of it on here but AKI (part of Leroy Merlin) have at last replaced their burnt out Portimao store - it is behind Max Mat next to the new Decathlon store. Should do well - it carries a sub-set of Leroy Merlin stock and a couple of prices that I checked were the same.

Had a look round last month and it did not seem as good as the old Aki. Still, a useful and welcome alternative to Max Mat and Leroy Merlin. Looking at shower screens and large trays Leroy Merlin beats them all. Little choice at the new Aki.

Ah, but to be fair Dave, LeRoy Merlin is the MECCA of all things DIY.

That is true, Bruce. We will be in there next time to choose, but no DIY on this one. Good selection of tiles as well; better than in Lincoln, where we have been looking this afternoon for kitchen tiles
