Where to buy a small amount of calcada stone?

Post by carolyn »

We need to buy just a couple of bags of calcada stones to fit into drain covers on our driveway. Most of the places we have tried so far only sell them by the cubic metre (such as Leroy Merlin and some of the builders merchants on the N125) whereas we just need a couple of bags. They are the smaller stones normally used on pavements. We really need them this week - so any help will be really appreciated!

There a couple of places that sell the walling stone just before Zoomarine on the 125. I think I saw the Calcada there also. I am sure they will sell you what you want in small quantities.

When we were there in march and drove from Sesmarias to Farragudo on the back rd (not the one that follows the sea) there was a pile of dumped calcadas on the left hand side of the road. I have also seen them by the waste bins on the CVO-lagoa rd where the road bends to the left and you turn off to go to Faro.

good uck

Hi Carolyn

We are having calcada laid early next week and will have some leftover with the correct sand to fit them. If you want some you can have some!
