Water bill direct debit

Post by carolyn »

We pay our water bill by a direct debit that goes out every two months. However the amount each time is different, and we dont seem to get any notification what the amount is going to be! In the UK we pay several bills like this but always get a two week warning of the amount that will be taken. Does anyone know if this is the way it should work? Should we be getting a statement before the DD goes out?? Do others have the same experience :?:

Checking my latest bill - for November and December 2007, the Factura was sent out 23/01/07, and my bank account debited on 08/02/08. This seems reasonable. The amounts are variable since they are based on meter readings, or I assume estimates if they cannot get to the meter.

Thanks for the reply - our bill did turn up - our villa manager let us know the amount a couple of days before the DD went out. Now we know how the system works, we will make sure we ask him to look out for the bill and email us the amount a bit earlier!
