I thought much of the landscape already had been lost to fire - in the Algarve at least. Surely, the fires had an immense impact on the industry in Portugal. One wonders if they were started by agents of the screw top industry.

Goodness no. Only a relatively small area by percentage anyway, certainly from Lisbon down to Monchique you only see little burnt areas if any.
