Greetings, I'm driving down to Cvo sometime in mid september. The ambiguity of the arrival date is the prompt to ask, can I be assured of getting a ten day break at a good 4 or 5 star acccomdation just turning up? I see that there are vacancies for mid Sept available using expedia or lastminute but I can't be sure when I will get away from the UK. Also, any personal recommendations for a hotel would be welcome. I'm quite surprised how much of a variance in opinions of say the Cristal hotel appear on sites such as Trip Advisor. Finally does anyone know what plugin is required for an Apple Mac to view the webcam? Thanks, Martyn Waters, London UK.

From mid September I'm sure ALL the hotels will have some vacancies, even at the last minute, so it really depends on what you want to pay and where you want to be. Carvoeiro Sol for the centre of town or Tivoli Almansor (most expensive) or Cristal a bit further out. I'm also sure you would be able to bargain a price with any of them out of high season or even tell them you've got a price in mind and can they match it ? Always worth a try !

Do try and get to the Algar Seco Bistro if you're there on a Thursday evening - meet up with some of the 'Carvoeiro' names on the website.
