Change of owners would suggest it's not WH any more and if that's all your worried about, try Albufuria. This is a not a "wear your shirt" resort.

Quite right, the response was rather snobby and not helpful at all.
In order to answer your question about whether the Algarve is any good and Carvoeiro in particular really depends on what you after - Carvoeiro is very much a families and couples type of resort, as traditional as it can be with lots of brilliant restaurants and some pretty good bars, there is a night club too.
On the other hand it is not Albufeira, which is where you would go if you were looking for more non-stop evening action, there tends to be a much younger crowd as well if that is what you after.
Anyway I hope that goes some way to answering your query and I am sorry that I am not in a position to directly answer the question about Bubbles

Bubbles bar is just simply the best. You can relax with a beer and soak up all that marvellous atmosphere of when West Ham won the World Cup on behalf of England!
Just get in there lad!

A lot of bars show football matches - Smilers for one, I'm sure there will be plenty of others too.

Dazza, you'll be welcome anywhere as long as you keep your shirt on in resturants, shops and anywhere other than the beach (where you can take it off)!!! Don't forget the sun cream, don't want you "like a lobster"!!!!!
