bars suitable for kids

I dont want to open a can of worms about "kids should or should not be in bars at night" but can you tell me where is best for a family with 3 kids aged 14, 10 and 2 for a couple of beers and entertainment some evenings / nights during our stay (arriving on Friday and dont want to sit in every night). Although some might answer that most bars accept children I think places like the Roundup saloon etc. would not be suitable as they cater more for adults most especially at this time of year.
Thanks
Robbie

Robbie - without hesitation I would recomment the Cocktail Garden at Monte Carvoeiro - outside seating in a pedestrianised square means they can run around a bit without danger - live music in the square twice a week is a plus, but otherwise a good selection of CD's is played.

You will also find many others like yourself there. I think most of the bars in the main drag are either all inside and smoky or a bit too close to the main road/racetrack for younger people.

(PS go early in your stay - most people I have met there seem to go back almost every night once they have found it!)

Thanks for your very helpful reply Graham. I have been to Carvoeiro 3 times in the last 6 months and have not made my way up that hill yet. Sad I know but too busy golfing !!!

Let's see - there are five of you and a taxi from the town will be about 5 euros - I suggest that after your older two have climbed the hill once you could probably get them to pay at least 2 euros each from their pocket money to go by taxi :D

By the way, the hill is no steeper than the 5th at Gramacho !
