Hiya, there was a post about this earlier, don't know if you saw it?
The train starts at the square and finishes at the square, it costs 3 euros ea and you are not allowed to get off until the end of your journey. It is just a sightseeing bus, goes around cvo and some of the complexes then back.

When we were over last year, someone said that the train goes to Ferragudo on Mondays early morning and then picks up at 4pm-ish?

Look here, should have the info you are looking for. The train as far as I know does not pick up and put down on its journey through Carvoeiro. Might be wrong but I don't think it goes to Ferragudo, stays in Carvoeiro.

i think the train used to stop at certain points to pick up/drop off people, but after complaints from local taxi businesses they discontinued it.

Is there a local bus service that takes you to local towns and villages?

I think it may have started now, I saw it go past our house a few days ago - and we are not on the normal route.
