Why does the last few News letters seem like personal Diarys, instead of containing Local news and information.
This not ment to offend any one in any way.

I for one really enjoy the personal style newsletters, because I fancy that this is what people do, living in Carvoeiro full time. It's just like a letter from home. The newsletters do contain bits of news and since Carvoeiro is such a nice and quiet place not a lot newsworthy things seem to happen. Again, I like it that way.

Have to agree with you Heini I think they are a lovely way to tell the news and give a really personal view, keep them coming I look forward to them. Makes you feel you are part of the community in Carvoeiro.

I am sure that under its new authorship the newsletter will develop , I have one suggestion and that is for other residents of CVO to add their own contributions by way of PM.
These could then be included putting less pressure on the new author to come up with something new and different every month.

I always enjoy reading the newsletters..I enjoyed Nigel's and I now get lotta pleasure in reading Karen's..
They are a little bit of Algarve life each month, and have to confess, they make me somewhat homesick..in a nice way
Poor old Camoes (Named after blind Portuguese poet K ?)..but glad his good eye is now okay and good to see Barney looking fit too
Glad you enjoyed 'L'Orange 'Karen..must say Ive always liked the food there and had a few good times in the place

Say hello to girls in Colombos for me, next time you visit please?and see you in September
Thanks for the letter(nice pics) and keep up the good work,

Keep up the good work Karen. Reading your accounts is like being there ourselves. We hang on your words vicariously.
Thanks

Thank you to all the contributors to this post.
The newsletter has always been a mixture of personal, local, and national news, as well as bits of Portuguese history and culture as appropriate.
A change of author will inevitably mean a change of style - which may be welcomed by some, though not all readers - and unfortunately it is not possible to please everyone.
I hope those of you who enjoy reading it will continue to do so, and perhaps, whoever eventually takes over from me in future will be more to the taste of those who don't.

kteee - I notice that the detractors are not offering to do anything better themselves!
Please keep it going for those of us that enjoy them (myself included) - those that don't like your style don't need to read them!

There is nothing in existence that cannot be improved, suggest graham that you RE- READ the original comment.
Full credit to anyone who offers to take this on but I think all the original comment was suggesting that it remain a NEWSLETTER and not become a DIARY.

I really enjoy reading the newsletter, but also think that it would be better named a Diary - it would not stop me reading it but would perhaps help people visiting the site to better understand what it is. I find the information about places to visit and restaurants to try very helpful and enjoy reading about the way of life.
However, it would also be good to have a round up of "news and events" in another section - things that have happened in Cvo that month and things happening the next month. I wish I could help but only spending a maximum of 2 days a month in Cvo means I haven't exactly got my finger on the pulse (plus I don't know any of the places at all!) However, I am more than willing to put something together if someone else wants to bullet point the relevant areas if they don't feel confident enough/have enough timeto put it together properly. Just an idea, so please don't shoot me down.
Anyway - would also like to say that this site has been a lifesaver for me. There is no WAY I could have purchased a property in Cvo if it had not been for the information and advice I received on here, plus the fact that there was a forum which would enable me to keep in touch with things, even if I was not there myself. I think it was the forum, more than anything else, which made my final choice of where to purchase a property. Now I have the apartment, I am just so pleased that Cvo is exactly the right place for me!
