Hi all

As I have a nice view from my balcony to the sea and square of CVO I was wondering where I could purchase a telescope close to CVO.

If it was me, I think I'd look on Ebay first to see what's around. Jessops will help give you an idea about what's available and costs.

You would be much better off with a good quality pair of binoculars.

I'm inclined to disagree on a balcony. Good scope on a sturdy tripod will be just the job. Looks the part as well.

There is a shop in Portimao which sells telescopes. It is in one of the side streets that runs parallel to the main shopping street.

Be careful when buying,as many more powerful astronomical telescopes -reflecting types, will give inverted images to the viewer, and therefore not be suitable for those who just wish to peruse the views from balconies.

I agree with guest about binoculars being a better buy. You can buy Celestron Skymaster Giant Binos 15 x 70 with a tripod adapter. much easier on the eyes
