Hi
We have just had an offer accepted on a villa in Carvoeiro so hope to be moving out there in August in time for my 4 year old daughter to start school in Sept. We have looked round the International School and although I really liked it it is a very big school (especially for a 4 year old). I have seen a few comments on here about The British School of The Algarve. Can anyone give me any more details on that. I tried to phone them but there has been no answer for 2 days. Do they still exsist?
I also have a 9 mth old baby and wondered if there are nurseries or creche facilities around.

I also wondered if anyone on here uses the Tennis Club. I am hopeless at Tennis but would like to learn and I thought it would be a good way to meet people. I also see they do areobic classes there. Are they in English?

Finally does anyone have any advice or info on removal companies to the Algarve.

Look forward to hearing from you

My son started at the International school at age 4. Its not all that big a school really. There were only 9 in his class, so its really great if you son isn't used to that kind of environment. With regards to the British School, I have only heard bad things and would personally give it a wide berth.

Nurseries and creches are very hard to come by. There are some, you need to put your child's name down early. You can find reliable child minders around though.

There are coaches at the tennis club who speak English. I am responsible for running the new Slimming Club up there. The aerobics and other fitness classes are also in English.

If you want the details of the company I used for removals, please pm me. They were Portuguese, reliable and cheaper than UK companies.

Hope some of that helps!
