TYRE TREAD

HI COULD ANYONE TELL ME IF IT IS LEGAL REQUIREMENT IN PORTUGAL TO HAVE THE SAME TYRE TREAD ON EITHER THE FRONT OR THE BACK OR DOES IT NOT MATTER.

legal minimum is legal minimum as far as I know and as far as the guys that do my MOt here...?

Probably legal ...but I hope it's not a 4X4 since minor differences in tread and hence wheel diameter puts excessive strain on the differentials and is a lot more expensive to fix than a set of new rubber

Sorry I meant the pattern of the tyre tread!
Do all the tyres on the car have to have the same tread pattern? or is it ok to have non mantching tread patterns

At First Stop in Lagoa a few years ago, I was told that the pattern on tyres on the same axle had to be identical. The best place to verify this would be at an IPO inspection centre, as they are up to date on the legal requirements.

We were told a couple of weeks ago that the make of the tyre on each axle had to be the same.
