Can anyone please give me information on the Salicos area, I will be staying in villa ANA PAULA in May and would like info on any local restaurants and bars that we can walk too. We have car hire but thought it would be nice to stay local some nights.

Salicos covers quite a wide area, and there aren't that many bars or restaurants there. Depending on the exact location of the villa you may be able to walk to either Roma or Nuno's restaurants - if you have precise directions I, or someone else, may be able to help more.

We passed through this area many times over the past two weeks, while staying at Rocha Brava, and the Restuarante Roma appears to be closed, with the gates chained and padlocked. Don't know if this is permanent or temporary.
