Hi Simon,
Give it a chance!
Why don't you register as user? There are plenty of benefits; you'll see new postings in a glance, participate in polls, get private messages, edit or delete own messages etc.
It only requires a username and an email address (which will not be displayed to other users, unless you allow it). There is two reasons for the required email address; you can receive notification by email [if you have opted for this] when someone answers a post in a specific thread. It is also used for private messages.
You only need to register once and when you type in username and password first time you can tick a box so your browser automatically logs you in each time.
Needless to say that email addresses are not sold nor given to anyone.
It is sort of nice to know each other and also gives credibility to answers given.
Kind regards!

Thanks for your comments Steve.
You'll be glad to here that I have registered and am quite prepared to give the new forum a go. I'm sure in time I'll get to like it like most others.
Cheers
Simon

I do like the new forum, but I do miss the "flow" of the conversations on the old forum. It seems there are going to be pages of subjects which does hinder the conversation a bit. As time goes on I can see us forever scrolling down the list! If there was any way of keeping the flow, that would be good. I haven't looked - but does the most recently posted messages put that particular subject to the top? If it did that would help. Sorry if this is happening already, I didn't look before posting this message!

Just seen that it does!!
Next question! - why does the icon to the left of the message say there are no replies when there are?!

Getting used to the 'new' Forum - given time I think everyone will get used to it. Just a little gripe here - during the time that I have visited the CVO site I have taken the time & effort to reply to several queries. The replies being based on my visits to CVO. Unfortunately, I hardly ever see an acknowledgement that the person has read the reply. (A word of thanks would be even nicer)!

Register as a user and you'll automatically see whenever a new reply is added. You must be a registered user though, as it can only work with a cookie on your machine. There is no big brother in this, it's just how things need to be in order to render service.

Hi Steen - Yes I am registered but I forgot my password the other day! When you sent me another one to use that's when I realised I'd obviously signed up many moons ago under a similar name as it wouldn't let me use the newer name, only the original name ... if you get my drift! So I sometimes use one as a guest name and this one as my "proper" signing in name!! Don't know why I use both though! Hope you're still with me?!
regards Jo
PS: Back in Carvoeiro in a couple of weeks - can't wait!
