i'm coming to carvoeiro in April and need to buy my mother-in-law some pottery!
Any ideas of best places?

Have a look in O Baú d' Avó at the end of the parade of shops on Rua Barranco (the 'out' road in Carvoeiro ) Alex has a lovely selection of pottery and is very helpful

If you want something quite different and almost unique I would say, go to Porches pottery on the N125 just out of Porches before you get to the International School and the traffic lights, they do some really beautiful things there and you can watch the ladies hand painting the pots, plates etc. Well worth a visit they also have a small snack bar with good food and drinks.

You also could take a look at: Artesanato CASA do LARGO. It is the first shop on the right side from the Carvoeiro Sol Hotel at the square.
