Does anyone know if this is still operating this summer?
I played a couple of times last September and will be looking to do it again this September if the society is still running. :D

Our local Golf Society, based at the Mungo's Bar (on the right going up restaurant hill in Carvoeiro) is now holding weekly competitions on Saturday mornings at the nearby Morgado Golf Club.
With it's brand new entrance now complete off Junction 5 on the A22 Motorway, the course is now within 15mins drive of Carvoeiro.
Anyone interested in joining us for a game can contact me by email algarve.golf@mail.telepac.pt or phone (00 351) 282 493263

Mungo's golf society was set up before Bob had the bar by the previous owner Peter. :)

Is the second course at Morgado open yet ? If yes has anyone played it & can give comments. The prices at Morgado are, in my opinion, V. High, is green fee the same for the new course ?

Don't think it will be open yet as last september it wasn't even seeded.May be wrong?
The course that is open is ok but nothing better than that,I played it on a reduced green fee of 40 euro I think and wouldn't have liked to have paid any more than that.

It was open about three weeks ago when I was out there and looked OK from a distance. I played the original course and seeing as I had a great round I thought it was a nice course. But the Green Fees are outrageous if you have to pay the full rate, although I cannot imagine that many people do.

I played it last week Jeremy, it is not totally ready yet, the fairways still need a bit of TLC but the greens are fine. Would give it another 2/3 months. I think I payed about 52 euros.

Just received this update on Alamos GC, for those of you who are interested.

Quote...
The course is improving by the week and they have cut back a lot of rough and removed a lot of the ob stakes so it is more pleasant to play now
