28th is a bank holiday here so there might still be things happening.

Not a lot happens in Carvoeiro over carnival. I mean it's not exacly Rio with half naked mulattas dancing about. Usually some kids events in the square, a band and parade around the town and that is about it really. Ok if the weather is nice but still too cold in Europe at that time to get the samba feeling!

Me? i guess it will be pancakes again :D

Hey Biffa

Off topic but . . . they have taken away your fire forum (which does make sense) but you are still 'green' - how cool is that?!

And just another idea whilst Steen and the Mods are tidying up the forum - any chance of "Food" and "Restaurants" being amalgamated - they seem to overlap and I know I would struggle to decide between them?

Maddi :)

edit: took the s of end of Steen - doh!

Where would I find out more about what might happen in Carvoiero during the Carnival. I am travelling down on 25th Feb and will be staying for a week with 4 adults and wait for it (6 young kids) which I am trying to keep amused. Would the local tourist office know whats on, if in fact there is anything on.
Secondly is it tee shirt weather at the moment. The web cam would indicate so. I am just advising them how to pack.
Thanks
Robbie

A Vela restaurant on the 'out' road, Rua do Barranco, are having a Samba evening with live music on Monday 27th.

Hi Robbie,
Now don't be daft  surely the best carnival is here   Image   By the way did you sort out about the taxis :?:
If you and yours would like a nice day out...why not pick up the boat from Silves and sail lazilyImagedown the Arade River to Portimao....where you will find the main square with water attraction and a good choice of cafés by the river. ImageImage
