AIRPORT MOVES:-
The government are presently considering an application to build a new airport at Beja.

As they can't afford to build the new airport at Ota (according to Min of Finance) I can't see this getting off the ground really.

We can only as they say"watch this space", but if built would most certainly ease the heavy traffic at Faro in the peak periods and give all those arriving in the Algarve and in particular those on the west side a choice of travel...which would also perhaps bring the monopoly of expensive flight tickets to Faro Airport again at peak periods down.

very true - might open up the delights of the Alentejo more as well.
