by 1 day to go!
I visit the Algarve every year and almost always in June and miss the Silves Festival. However this year I am arriving tommorow

so we should be there for the festival. Does anybody have any info about the event and the date it starts and finishes.. I can't seem to find much information about it on the internet.
Many thanks....

The beer Festival in Silves I can unfortunately make no statements. Can do you however the international Bierfestival in Berlin of 01.08. - 03,08,2003 recommend.

I think it starts on 4th July and goes on to 13th at Fabrica do Ingles, Silves. Some big Portuguese bands playing during that time

Pickpockets are everywhere. In Portugal they are usually Brazilian as it is a finely honed craft out there.Be careful everywhere - who keeps a wallet in their back pocket anyway?!
The Beer Festival ain't what it was when it was at the Castle. Although I think using the Moorish Castle for a Beer Festival was sort of sacrilige. It was good though. At the Fabrica there is NO atmosphere.
My view only of course!

Surley the "atmosphere" depends on how many beers you've had?!!! I personally think the beer festival has always been a bit of a let down and havn't been for years.

My daughter has been known to ask . . .
"how many glasses of atmosphere have you had tonight, mummy?"
quite charming, me thinks

Surely to enjoy a good beer festival you need a variety of beers brewed by many different breweries. With all the beer being brewed by 1 company whay is the point?
