thinking about the olympics winter and summer...always a bit puzzled why they dont divide it up and hive off the water parts and have an "aqua olympics" - every third year. eg winter aqua summer gap winter etc
the trouble with the summer games is that there is far far too much going one..with an aqua olympic they could go to other place like the algarve which has an attractive coast...then another time go to some poor country and build things there

That would be great! They can finally put to use the big new stadium built north of downtown Faro. They could flood it and hold all their water sports there. After the competitions are finished they will have a year round aquatic resort. Who knows? They can even incorporate a golf course nearby with all that water in storage.

What's the equivalent of the Portugal OBE?
