I find often find myself in various supermarkets in different parts of the country for " coffee and refreshment stops ".
I often make a bee line for the " special offers " usually fresh/chilled foods cloee to their deadline.
Having braved the " little old ladies " who have a phsycic ability to know exactly when the items go on sale I arrive at the check out clutching my hard one items.
Arrivng home and showing my prizes " goatscheese and Rocket tartlets "
winter vegetable quiches and the like I am greeted with " NOT More of that Rubbish " which destined for the freezer we find six months later.
But I love the thrill of the chase and the dangers involved.
In B,ham I noticed two " old dears " fitting knife blades to the wheels of their trolley/ These descendants of Boudica take no prisoners if you get between them and their special offers/

I know there is... I just said what I did because promotions here are so rare that you forget they exist. From what I remember every aisle in dear old Asda's had promotions like that.

When I was last in the UK, my friends had a knock at the door and when I enquired who it was, they said "oh that will be our Tesco's delivery, we order via the Internet". How I would loveeeeeeeeeee that. No more wandering aimlessly along aisles, trying to find what I want and coming away with a bottle of red wine and Pringles for my dinner.

You are right Martin...that is excellent news! :D 8)

Just think, all those divorced Portuguese men, who are too embarrassed to be seen with a shopping basket or trolley, can do it in the privacy of their own home.

By the way, did you know there is a website in Portugal, telling divorced Portuguese men how to put toilet duck down the toilet?

Whenever I go shopping with either husband or son it costs us a lot more, they're always filling up the trolley with illicit goodies like chocolate & biscuits.
A friend of mine sent her hubby off with a shopping list, one of the items on it was T. rolls (this being her abreviation for toilet rolls).
When he came back & they unpacked the shopping she noticed they were missing & so asked him where the toilet rolls were. He was very perplexed "but you didn't put them on the list" he said. She pointed to the list "oh" he said "I thought you meant rolls for tea".
He had come back with two swiss rolls :!:

of course that long winded thread about "looking for lurve" could have been ended in one posting.....if you want a rich husband ..just wait by the champayne section of your supermarket....then when your "ideal match" turns up ..bang your trolley into his

and as the sun sets---aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
