anyone who will be appearing in a court case soon...would be well advised to do one of the following.
a. if guilty stay away from cvo
b. if innocent prop up the bar at the cvo tivoli and buy everyone a drink
or should it be the other way around?!
why??

Portuguese judges meeting in Carvoeiro

The 7th Congress of Portuguese Judges began yesterday, and will run until 26th November in Carvoeiro, addressing the topic “Justice – Guaranteeing the Rule of law”.
The Hotel Tivoli Almansor will be crowded with judges during the three-day meeting of these professionals.
There will be a reception for congress participants on 25th November at the beginning of the afternoon, followed by the opening ceremony with speeches by the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio, the President of the Supreme Court of Justice and the President of the Associação Sindical dos Juízes Portugueses (ASJP), the Association of Judges.
During the congress, the topics that will be discussed include: the function of judging and new technologies, the organisation of judicial power, the administrative and financial autonomy of courts, and recruitment and training of judges.
Other important topics will be the forming of judges’ associations and the factors and pre-conditions affecting the independence of judges.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will be one of the well-known figures present on the first day of the meeting with the inaugural speech. The Minister of Justice, Alberto Costa, will speak during the closing session on 26th November, after the reading and approval of the conclusions of the congress.
The 7th Congress of Portuguese Judges will end with a dinner at the Vilamoura Casino.
