Rainfall Measurement

Can somebody tell me why during Sunday's deluge - the rainfall measurement box on the Weather Cam registered ZERO.
The level of our pool increased 16cm during Sunday morning.

Rumour 4ins..... but where we are Poço Barreto, 5-10 mins from Silves.. 5-6ins came down.....

As far as I can remember the rain guage has never worked
- the only way to tell if it is raining is to go by 100% humidity and look to see if the ground is wet
