FAQ?

Sorry if I may have missed this, but what I'd like to see is a list of all of the places/restaurants in/around cvo that do takeaways. Do we have one, or would anyone like to see one in the FAQs?
Thanks!

No, you've not missed it.
OK, can someone please answer this question?
Thank you.

Michael - Have to say the restaurant numbers section is very useful - for a real challenge could we add which day each one is shut?
To kick you off l'Orange shuts on a Sunday
Thai Restaurant never shuts
Something else I find very useful is what time they open. This is because I like to take the kids for early dinner (6pm) but a lot do not open until later (another starter - O'Salmao opens at 6 (closed Saturday)
I know this is a bit of a challenge, but since eating out seems to be a large preoccupation with many visitors you could become the 'Michelin Guide' to Carvoeiro

Good point Graham.
I am looking for a Carvoeiro resident to supply this information. If any one (more than one would be OK) would care to take on this task, please PM me and we'll sort someting out.

I know one; it is on the "in-road" just on your left hand side when you enter CVO.
Galo d'Ouro
Rua dos Pescadores 114c
282 357 398
962 946 281
Here is another one:
Takeway CHURRASQUEIRA FRANGO DOURADO
Rua dos Pescadores
282 357 987
(at the end of the "in-road" on the right side, just before the pharmacy)
[or take a look at FreeMaps nr. 45]
FreeMaps nr. 8
City Sol 2
Chinese Restaurant
Monte Carvoeiro
282 357 075
Taj Mahal
Indian Restaurant
Monte Carvoeiro
282 082 980
9170 735 288
Don't know if he is still in business, but otherwise for the best pizza's in town go to Frazer (just around the corner from the Post Office)

Opening times and days off would be difficult to give for lots of restaurants, as many open everyday during peak season but close one day a week during quieter periods.
Some do lunches part of the year but several seem to only open at night in peak season, too hot to eat or clients can not drag themselves away from the beach or pool.
Also a lot close for a month to 4 months during November to April.
If you decide to add times and days closed suggest you make it clear that it is likely not to be 100% correct.

I think we should just keep it to Take-aways; not restaurants.

On a normal working week (ie not in winter), Maxime is closed on Wednesdays.
One other point which would be useful to put on the FAQ.
Bank phone numbers and opening times
Pharmacy opening times

But the bank thing isn't a bad idea is it?

No, it's not a bad idea. That's why I have already included it in:
viewtopic.php?t=6863
"The banks are open from 8:30 through to 15:00 Monday to Friday except holidays . . ."
As I said . . . check the FAQ

I do hope we are going to point guests in the direction of the FAQ in a facilitory and courteous fashion.
As I have often said many people post as guests initially especially those visiting the Algarve or CVO for the first time, so lets all make sure we give them a big welcome to the forum and be gentle when we signpost to FAQ
