the ten guarantee

we know how carefull shops in Portugal are in keeping their guarantees (yeah right!!!) ..anyway one fellow who fitted tyres said he bought a spanner here with a 10 year guarantee......anyway a little later a mechanic is working away at the garage and the end bit breaks off.
so the boss call the rep...says he wants a replacement spanner under the 10 guarantee...mmmmmm ...ahhh .... oooooh ....descupe... says the rep..its only the middle bit that has the guarantee...the end bit is not covered.
so always be carefull what you buy and in Portugal who you buy it from.

I wish people would stop endlessly repeating urban legends as though they had some element of truth.

And in particular-always, always, look after your end bit

Excuse me, but what is hiding about being a guest? I presume Johnny Boy is not actually your real name, so what is the difference between using one made up name and one the forum software makes up for you?

Interesting that the more annoyed you get, the worse your spelling becomes.
T'would be an interesting game to see how bad your spelling before you burst either a blood vessel or your keyboard.

well there is nothing about this urban myth..it was told to me in person by the owner of the firm and had happened to him a few months before
as usual a story about life in cvo..the firm was in fact in lagoa ....becomes a thread of criticism and abuse...if you think a web site like this can survive on threads about bars and resturants and villas for rental..it cant ....my point in posting items of wider interest is to increase awareness of life beyond carvoeiro and to inform about life and times of portugal which affect and influence carvoeiro. and other areas as well
for those who post here ...many do not live there but in other parts of the algarve and beyond..such diverse items I hope will be of interest and concern to all
