Am going back to Carvoeiro for New Years Eve (a week out there). I was out there in June & July 2004 however I have just downloaded a map of the bars & Restaurants of the town and the Karaoke Bar owned by “Will” the big Dutch fella is not on the Map.
Can anyone advise if it is still there or has this now been sold and opened as something else.
Thanks

The bar you are referring to is the Roundup and it is still there. However, not sure it will be open around Xmas/New Year as Will usually goes off to Brazil. He has partners who may well have the place open though. I know he wants to sell the place due to his health, but at his asking price he may have a long wait.

Thanks Sam
Sorry, just another whilst I’m here. Does the town have anything special or an event on for New Years Eve at all?

I believe it has been known for the odd firework to be let off. Apart from that not much.

There were at least two fireworks last year and a couple of flares.
Get yourself down to the beach with a bottle (or two) of Champagne, then finish the night in Sully's

OK, it me again and yes with more questions. I’ve been looking for weather maps to find the approx local temp for late December early January but cannot find one, so if any can advise either the approx temp or a web link that would be great.
Also we shall be going to Albufeira for at least one night of our stay, does any one know the likely cost of a taxi to get there. Thanks.

Mac, check this link for temperatures

- you can expect to pay 40-45 Euros to Albufeira (one way)
Good luck
