I was just curious as to how many seperate times a year people visit Carvoeiro and surrounding areas, if you are a UK resident. I suspect a lot of people have property in and around Carvoeiro that they travel to on a regular basis, but it would be interesting to hear from everyone, whether its owners, rentals, hotels etc. Thanks.

Interesting. I travel through Faro about 10 times a year. The immigration officer rarely looks at me or my passport when arriving or leaving. S/he just flicks it over the scanner. Do you think there is a piece of software running that is totaling my visits and waiting for the magic 183.

Its great that nowadays flying abroard is like getting a bus into town, with regular visits being so cheap. I recently flew 5 of us into Faro from Doncaster during peak season (August) for £350 all in. There is now direct competition for our local Faro flights between Jet2, EasyJet and ThomsonFly, bringing prices down even more year on year.

Never yet used Doncaster although it is quite close. We usually aim to catch the 06.00/15 out of East Midlands with Easy. All flights booked as soon as each season's flights come on sale. Super flight as we can do the shopping and be in the appartment well before lunch.

Flys at super sonic speed and can take you to Doncaster or anywhere you "wish" to go.

But limited flights...only on full moons and limited space.

Bruxy and I travel about 12 times a year, but unfortunately Bruxy had a bit of trouble with landing recently, something to with a tree? But don't worry our pilots are very well trained and have been around for years(well centuries actually)..

Maybe you didn't know it yet, but from the first November Transavia is going to fly mostly from Rotterdam Airport on monday, wednesday, friday, saturday and sunday. And from Amsterdam only on monday and friday.
It's easier to get to Rotterdam from the Hague than to Amsterdam.
I definitely prefer Rotterdam. Check-in is much quicker, parking is cheaper, luggage handling when returning is quicker, taxes are about € 8,00 p.p lower.

Hi Peter, funny enough, Gary was checking out Rotterdam before flying out to CVO a couple of weeks ago and yes we will be flying December from Rotterdam, cheaper to Park the ol' car too, can'r wait and I've only been back since last Friday. The Hague's looking pretty autumnal..
