Hello everyone,

Just returned back from holidays in my home country and the earlier posting about dentist made me curious…
I spent some time at dentist’s before moving to Portugal and then didn’t have any trouble for several years. Yet one day had to visit a local dentist: I had an open nerve. To say the truth, the visit horrified me for I was offered to take the tooth out. My pleading to treat the tooth met no response. Sure, I didn’t agree.
Since then, I see my ”own” dentist far from the Algarve once a year.
Just for curiosity, we spent around 448 euro on this visit. It included 5 anesthesia, 19 fillings and whitening for my husband. That’s for family of 5. All within 8 calendar days, with gaps for breaks…
The prothesist was ready to force up and replace my bridge within a week… Unfortunately, I had to use surgeon’s service… Another 20 euros…
My wonder is: is it worth to buy an insurance here and not spoil our holidays ? Does it economically pay off ? Are there any reliable dentists around ?
Who could give a word of advice ?

Don't wish to be rude Inga, but you probably haven't had any response because what you have written does not make much sense!

I think Inga is just asking if anyone knows a good dentist...

19 fillings for 5 people WOW! I bet you didn't have ice cream for tea
