Todays paper - Top Cat Cruises, Vilamoura - crew jumped ship immediately when on board barbeque on tourist catamaran went out of control.
British Oil rig worker had fortunately taken a life jacket for his young daughter but article states no other passengers had these  He had 20 years worth of experience at sea and remained calm and helped other tourists.
This happened 3 miles from shore but thank goodness other boats in vicinity, to help rescue the stricken tourists.

Posting this to warn tourists to check all boats have lifejackets which we always thought was a legal requirement. Some might have comments on whether bbq's should be legal on board these boats too? :?

DO you mean that the crew just left passengers to fend for themselves?

Noel Coward said he always insisted on using French or Italian Liners as there was "none of this nonsense about women and children first".
