Extract from French Tourist Posting that I didnt want to just melt into oblivion
Calm Down you lot.

Now I may have lost the thread of this topic but it seems that all you nice people are slating our much needed tourists with their euro-laden wallets.
I think that The Algarve and CVO in particular cos its where I live should start being nice to all those people who have paid alot of money to come to visit us and our surroundings and Civility, Service and Assistance all 0f which cost zilch should be in abundance to French Germans Italians Spanish Dutch etc etc. and even those living north and west of "Watford" yes even the Welsh(That should be good for one or two replies)
Failure in revising the attitude from Potuguese and other Nationalities who are in Service ,catering, retail and other tourist related businesses wil unboubtedly cause a further drop off in visitors- yes further cos unless you havent noticed it started a couple of years ago. So Sharpen up and start to work with those you have got left and hope they tell their friends or you will have to start to hope that further holidaymakers will start to come from The Moon, Mars and other such places where the latest attitude has not yet reached
My only argument against the above sentiments would be that if anybody is caught drinkingTAGUS beer they should be immediately deported and if Hans in the Carvoeiro Bar ever makes this brew his only source of beer I will be commiting alcoholic suicide

What a shame over 3 hours since my posting and here I was hoping that some of you involved in the tourist,service, retail, catering trade in CVO would make me wrong or at least try to. Does this say it all then?

Well said,My wife and I are of Italian birth although we have lived and worked in UK for many years involved in catering and food supply. If we dont give good service at competitive prices we dont have a business. Same all the world over I would have thought-except Portugal???????

Will Ihave to disguise my Italian accent and speak with a scouse accent to get good service?

I see according to THE NEWS headline that tourists have come flooding back to the Algarve this summer! What a releif that must be for us all I mean thats eight weeks sorted out now we only have just 44 weeks to worry about.
I can only suggest that all these extra tourists must have been sitting in their hotel rooms/apartments/tents or caravans hiding cos apart from the last 4 weeks( and lets face it if it aint busy then -wheres the gun) they certainly havent made any impact on my business or that of my associates

You see my business relies in fixed contractual prices so as much as I'd like to I cant hike my prices for 6/8/12 weeks of the year to last me 52. I cant afford to close for 2/3/4 months at a time in the winter and hibernate.

I have a wonderful standard of life -better house and cars than most and enjoy my self-financed in the Northern European fashion-Get up, get out there and get a goodliving.
