Can anyone advise re driving licence requirements? It's a while since I was out there but we are coming in September. I have an old style UK licence (no photo). Are they still accepted by car hire companies and police - if stopped?

Pretty sure they are but I would recommend getting a new style licence - they are so much more convenient and can be used as proof of ID for so many things.

I think I'm right in saying that if's there no photo then you must carry your passport, I might stand corrected on this but deffo carry your passport. No need for a new license if you do. Mike. PS: dont forget the yellow flack jackets in the car you are now required to have on board. I assume the hire companies are now suppling these, is that right?

Old License is fine...but must carry Photo ID...Passport...I've never ben stopped in 5 years
