Iberian Wolf Appeal --update

As a member of "The Wolf Society Of Great Britain" I have just received news that could prove disastrous for Iberias wolf population.
Although hunting& killing of wolves North of the Rio Duero is permitted by special licence it now seems the regional government of Castilla y Leon is seeking to spread this killing to south of the river and sending a request to do so to the EU Environment Commissioner Ms Margot Wallstrom.
If this should be granted it could well mean the end of the Iberian wolf population. Around 200 are killed illegally each year and very few, in fact only 6 have been prosecuted for this illegal act since 1990 !
I have been asked to pass this message on to friends and as wide an audience as possible. So I hope you'll forgive me for taking a few minutes of your time on the Forum and to ask for your help.
If you feel you would like to help,it can be done simply by going on to
www.ciconia.org
Its mainly in Spanish but theres English message too and you just click onto "Send an online petition against", then put name and email address.
Or/ As I plan to do,write to
Ms Margot Wallstrom
Commissioner for the Environment EU
B-1049 Brussels
BELGIUM
Please dont let them disappear. Thank-you,Elle.

No,I'd never do that Cowboy--how could I? Theyre my little friends remember --Im the one whos terrified of "SNAKES!"--so I look on these Algarve inhabitants as allies--hope theres plenty around around when Im there in September just in case I should meet a passing Serpent!
Thanks for reminding me Coop! Have a nice day,Elle.

By the way Coop--can I ask,did you put your name to the petition, thats if you got onto the site okay--its all in Spanish--which i know little of!But theres a piece in English for getting onto petition.
I was reading some of the newsletters I get from the Wolf society--havent got it with me on here so not absolutely sure of this, but its either in USA near Canadian borders I think or/actually in Canada where theyre actually stepping up the killing of wolves and some local authorities are giving permission to go in and kill she-wolves that have young cubs,so the little ones will starve--isnt it terrible.
i realise in some cases,as we have in Scotland ,that culling has to be carried out with deer, but Ive seen some dreadful cases on film where its not donehumanely--personally,I couldnt kill anything (even a snake!)unless I was really in danger.
Do'you know,Ive sent several letters to Prince Charles about his fox hunting and how he ropes his sons in to take part-I always get a polite letter back-but nothing changes.!
I watched a foxhunt (when I lived in Essex countryside)and the idiots on horse back! The fox, he was a large dog fox,got away--I stood and clapped as he made off cross the fields.
To me,all life is sacred -Im not being "holier than thou" cos I eat meat, but only free range from farms where animals are treated correctly.
anyway Coop,enough of me "going on"--have a nice evening,Elle.

I'm here cowboy, but no comment on this wolf situation.
Jousting with animal lovers can be risky business.

Jousting!

Jeff---- darling id never but never joust with a wolf thats for sure--Im an animal lover but Ive never had anyone joust with me yet over it .I dont think i could handle a horse and one of those lances at the same time!
Only joking--Id never go to far with the animal rights thing -i just do my little bit and I id always put the rights of humans first -Imnot religious about it-just a bit passionate, have a nice day ,Ellie.

No Coop. I didnt know that--its a new one on me!
Ive heard himcalled all sorts of things --that we could never say on here----but never Wolf !
Think youre right too--it is a bit quiet now that W J S has now become mr nice guy Jeff but i feel a little uneasy about it dont you--too much "nice" might well become ---er---dull maybe?
But we must'nt provoke him must we ?
Must say in all honesty, that i enjoyed some of his "other sides"!
boa noite Cowboy,Jeff,alias whoever.
