Consumer Rights?!

Good evening.
Does anybody know the law concerning consumer rights?
We recently bought an electric kettle, after approximately 2 months it developed a fault. The supermarket - Intermache - refused to replace it or give us our money back, instead insisting on sending it to be repaired! We have now been without a kettle for 3 weeks and still no sign of getting our kettle back.
Has anybody else encountered a similar problem?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Makes no difference...The ones that shop at Supermarkets , will still shop at Supermarkets ..(It's just down the road from Intermache).....and now they have a choice........and competition.......thats good.....and employment of many.
The ones that shop at the little shops are the old faithfuls and those that don't have a car......
It's good to see that area (mess) cleaned up and modernisation...now all we want is the main road into the Village cleaned up of tons of Pallets and garbage and nice trees planted......

While your contract is with the retailer and not with the manufacturer the retailer has the right to send the goods back for repair. Keep pushing the intermarche for a progress report from the manufacturer

I have been told from a very reliable source, that they should give you achoice of "money back", "new item" or "repair."
Am just waiting for it in writing !

Is the new supermarket going to be on the right where a lot of work is going on on the Lagoa to CVO road near the junction.
