Can anyone recommend a good, local (to Carvoero) insurance broker (with if possible telephone contact number) to arrange car insurance ?

National rather than local but Portugals answer to Esure

You can entertain yourself getting an online quote in Portuguese. If you phone them they will find an English speaker

Alan,
Are you giving up your car insurance in the UK? If so, and you have a no-claims bonus, some Ins. Co. in pt will give you the same discount (you’ll need a letter of proof tho).
Also are you buying a new car in pt? If so, the showroom may have an in-house broker……worth asking.
And, if you are over 50 (I think it is) Saga may be worth looking into.
