After reading various topics here about water shortage sewage systems being built in Carveoiro and effluence being flushed in the sea, drought and possible fires again Im concerned about bringing my 9year old out in summer hols. Is his health going to be at risk? Are there any extra precautions we should be taking on the medical front?Any advice would be welcome.
Thankyou,Karena

Having raised 2 'British' children from birth until their mid teens in Carvoeiro I don't think you will experience any problems. Health facilities are on par with any other place in Europe and maybe better than some.

Health concerns

I think some views are a little extreme. Have been coming to the Algarve avery year since early 90s and have never suffered any health problems. Yes there are often a few mosquitos in the height of the summer ... but there are too in Hampshire !!! And everyone is worrying about the water situation. But none of those concerns would stop me going on holiday to the Algarve.
