• Music in the square

Is there anymore news on this issue and does anyone know if ILZE is performing this year in any of the bars?

From one of the residents when I was in Carvoeiro from 16th-23th of april I heard that there will be no music on the square this summer! The Mayor of Lagoa doesn't want it anymore. This resident told me he would ask someone to put a letter in Portugese (to send a protest) on the site, so that everyone who wants, could write to the Mayor about this foolish discision. I'll contact him again.

When I was in Carvoeiro Ilse performed in the Carvoeiro Sol one night so I think she'll be performing still. I have no data where and when. I don't rember at the moment the e-mail address on her car she drives in. (maybe someone knows it)

That is really terrible if the live music is stopped!

It's one of the nicest things about being in Carvoeiro during the summer evenings!

If this is true, can we have that Portuguese letter to send asap!

In my view the greatest thing about the music was the sense of "entente cordial" it bought.

Lots of people stay in villas around Carvoeiro and in places like the Sol, and very often if you have younger teenage kids they basically get to spend all day with Mum & Dad, sometime they hook up with someone on the beach or at a waterpark but villa dwelling in particular can be isolating for them.

When we were at the Sol last July it was great for our kids, every evening they would have to spend a "boring" couple of hours dining in a restaurant but then down to the square where Pete & I could enjoy coffees and liquers listening to the entertainment whilst they mixed with a couple of dozen children from a multitude of nationalities under the stage. One night we went back to the hotel before they did! It was brill

Whilst Carvoeiro will always remain special to me, it could take the edge of it for our children. Maddi

Totally agree about the entente cordial Maddie!

I wonder if the German lady who my husband dragged up to dance July (2001 I think!) ever comes onto the Forum?! I'm sure she's never forgotten him, or the people watching them either!!

What us women have to put up with!!

Visited Carvoeiro this July and was v. disappointed at the no music policy. Does anyone know the reason?

Mike - I think that Ilse is performing twicwe monthly. We were there in early August and managed to catch her show in teh square on a Tuesday.

every night except Sunday and Monday there is music in the square, so my children tell me! Next week is the "Festa da nossa senhora da encarnação" always a good few days! Take advantage of the stalls selling cheap bags, etc, I always do! Pinkiebluesky

Next week there is music everynight and on Saturday there will be traditional games on the beach during the day, things like sack races, catch the duck and greasy stick climbing, all good fun!!!
