In case the last post has depressed you, we have visited in February, and had a great time. We are out again on Saturday for two weeks, so we obviously were not put off! Yes it does get cold in the evenings, and some restauants are closed, but not enough to give a major problem. Your walking problem depends on where you are staying. Carvoeiro does have it's fair share of hills. :)

Enjoy yourselves!

The weather here at the moment is lovely. It can be very warm, but there's often a chilly wind or early morning mist so the temps aren't always that high but it is still lovely and sunny. Unless we get a sudden change in the weather which I now gather often happens!

If you are in the centre of cvo then a walk to the beach won't be a problem.

I can't comment on the restaurants have only really tried a few cafes during the daytimes (kids  ) However, you will both be out here on my birthday, so hopefully I may be trying a restaurant during that period also. Keeping my fingers crossed this time.

Hi Cazzy
We purchased a property end of last year right in the Centre of CVO, so we are testing off season too, out again in March. We were in CVO beginning of December last year and although evenings were cold, during the day it was quite warm in the sun. Even though the town was quiet we still had a good and relaxing time and there were a few restaurants open to choose from. The local Bars were welcoming especially Sully's (in the square). Had a hired car which also helped as we had a chance then explore further (especially with your crook knee). Enjoy...

...If you are that fair then of course stick a tube in yr bag just incase. When we were there in December hotel Carvoeiro Sol were in the middle of sprucing up the place so it will be all new and fresh for you. Hotel right on the square, superb location for the beach and just across the road from Sullys
Have a great time, let us know what you think when you get back. 8)

Cazzy, if want to hire a car, can I put in a plug for Steen, our webmaster. I use his algarve-driver hire company, and find the system inexpensive and convenient. Now, do I get a discount!
