I was thinking about taking my Doggy to UK this Xmas..and back early in the New year...Has anybody any experience on this subject.....

I guess you already have a valid Pet Passport for your dog. If so you can check out the process on this site

I lived in Madeira for 4 years and made the trip back to the UK five times. It is expensive and unless really necessary I would not recommend it. I had no choice as I lived on an island, so driving home was not an option!! I found it very stressful especially when waiting for the authorites in the UK to check all the paperwork and release the dog. I felt very unhappy putting her through the whole experience, cage, hold, flight etc
