Yes, a very daft name I know but there's marketing for you. The new Doncaster airport at Finingley is starting flights next year. The website http://book.thomsonfly.com/ has details of flights and prices. A return flight to Faro in May is £65 per person. Might be worth considering for those of us who live in the immediate vicinity.

Apparently when they were renaming East Midlands airport they were thinking of calling it something similar - to do with Robin Hood anyway. Also in consideration was Notts Landing. I think that would have been great. Anyhow they just changed it to Nottingham East Midlands Airport. How original!

I will take a look at the new Robin Hood Airport though. Always looking for alternative flights!
