Next best place to Carvoeiro ?

Not sure if this is in the right place to post this, but will give it a try!!
We have holidayed in Carvoiero 4 times now - we love it!
We've booked our flights for next July and have started the accomadation search, however, we fancy a bit of a change. Our daughter's think Carvoeiro IS Portugal!
We always try to tour around whilst we are there but we thought we'd try staying somewhere else this time. (we will still want to visit Carvoeiro of course!)
Any recommendations?
A couple of years ago we had a problem with our pool and we just got in the car and drove - we wanted to be as far away as possible as quickly as possible - we ended up on the beach at Martinhal - anyone any experience of staying in this area??
Also interested in recommedations for a Villa - 3 beds - pool - 2 weeks - 10th - 24th July 2005.
Look forward to any replies
Thanks

Cant be much specific help on villas etc but why not have a look at the Lagos area (even Praia da Luz)
Us Derbyshire folk should stick together so maybe I should say you'd be better in the Central Algarve near our patch !!

Hi
I agree with Iane, Lagos has a lovely old town and harbour and is relatively unspoilt. The beaches are also nice around that area as well. There are several websites on Lagos, which will give you an insight into the immediate area

Yep, Lagos gets my vote every time - nice Marina, Great Old Town with meandering streets, shops, restaurants etc, pretty beaches with sculpted rocks like Praia Dona Ana. We've just bought a T2 there and LOVE it.

…..and I am going to check out Aljezur…don’t think I’ve ever visited the town/city, but we did spend a night in Odeceixe last year – love it – on our way up the coast to Lisboa….do you know that route? [car on the ferry at Troia] …….

Hi Digger
this link I do have to hand
http://www.aljezur-info.de/f_e_index.html
No dont know the route you mention, but probably worth checking out. I am just a sponge for any information at the moment. I amaze hubby with all the info I have picked up from the forum.
I am going to have to persuade him to drive down to CVO for happy hour.

well the lap dancing bar, or was that pole dancing..sorry.
Gotta check out all these places I read about
Have you been to CVO Digger?

Thanks for all the replies so far - I've got a few ideas now so will start the search!
Iane - I think we exchanged a couple of posts in the summer - you're from Spondon aren't you? We're in Stanley!
Will let you all know where we end up next July - thanks again

Dearest piglet……… thanks for the Aljezur link ….but you did put that on another topic recently, and I never before realised that Aljezur is not just the name of a town (city?) but also the name of a sizable chunk of Algarve. Where’s your place then?
Yes I have been to cvo loads of times……about 15 years ago we had a holiday home in Portimao/Rocha and we used go there for a lazy lunch occasionally. Then we didn’t visit cvo at all for about 10 years, but been twice in the last year or so since knowing this forum.

Hi Digger
Getting forgetful in my old age
We are (well will be) about 5km from town of Aljezur in a place called Vale da Telha.
We are about 2km from Monte Clerigo beach (probably not spelt that right)
Kind REgards
