Anyone found any cheap VAN HIRE places in the Algarve?

I shall be buying quite a lot of stuff at Algarve Shopping on my next trip, and all that GOOGLE throws up is all the usual car hire places

try eorocar next to newspaper shop in cvo main street..i hired recently van 120 euros a day..no deposit reqd very good service...another place along road would npt cover accisdnt damage...i was laible for first 2000 euros damage...with eurocar doesnt apply

I'm not sure about the legal side of things but 'I have a friend' who owns a LHD Portuguese registered white Van...wants to hire it out at 80 Euro a Day......anybody know if
# This is legal as long as he is on the Insurance ?
# Can he advertise this service ?

I heard the police can stop any van and ask for a 'List of all things inside' and even invoices.

Any advise greatly rcvd

I'm not sure the insurance would be valid - he should check his policy as a normal policy usually excludes 'for hire or reward'.

The police can ask for proof of ownership of the goods in a van - and I think they can be confiscated if you can't prove they are legally yours.

yes dont hire your friends vehicle...enough there to keep you in prison for two years

for the differnce in going legit to eurocar..is it worth the risk???
