Having spent the week at the World Travel Market exhibition at Excel in London, I thought I'd report on how impressed I was by the Portugese Tourist Boards stand. It was by far the largest in European hall and had reps from most of the hotel/golf/villa rental companies from the Algarve as well as people promoting all the different regions in Portugal. This exhibition is aimed at Travel agents/Tour ops/Press who in turn should promote the destinations to the general UK public. Maybe at long last the
Tourist Board are getting their act together, lets hope visitor numbers are up next year! :D

And yes, my feet hurt and I can't string more than two sentances together! - I'm off to bed!

I used to go along to that (wtm) for years ….when it was at Earls Court. I wasn’t in the travel biz exactly but I used to get free tix, so I’d pop in, chat to the PT meninas, have a couple of glasses (plastic) of Port…..muito bom. Were you there in a profession capacity then tricky?

Hi Digger, Yes I used to go to Earl's Court too, perhaps we passed on a crowded stand! :)
I run a specialists travel advertising agency, so was there touting for business - think I'll get a job filling shelves in Sainsbury's instead!
