if anyone who doesnt know.silves annual fairground and gipsy market is now on until tuesday....i counted 17 "farturas" stalls...also you can buy a tractor and some pirate dvds....that is if the 20 police gnr on duty wil let you.
plus loads of hot chesnut selllers.
pity that little carvy is to insignificant to have such a fair...but then living in the original capital city of the region does have its advantages

Hi
Please do not forget the new rules, this has nothing to do with Carvoeiro. We have been relegated to CHIT CHAT

well it does mention cvo actually..
anyway if all the general section is to be about cvo ONLY ....there is as one other poster said.there will not be much to write about

Hi
Please do not take offence to my post. It was not my intention to be rude. Just merely to point out we are not welcome to post on the CVO section and fair enough, they what to keep it relevant to CVO.
However, if we all now post under our own section CHIT CHAT this will become the major and more topical discussion area.
Please accept my appologies

Maybe there should have been a poll vote on the Chit Chat?
Iam slightly puzzled as to where to post what
ChitChat states its for non-related CVO posts..but surely the General with the added 'Carvoeiro' bit isnt purely for CVO itself? Must include Algarve/Portuguese topics?
On ChitChat I noticed Piglet has posted there and seems to think she may be out of it coming from Vale de Velha

??
and Guest above from Silves seems to feel that way too? That cant be right!
Have I got it all wrong?

Hi Ellie
I think if you look at the vast majority of posts made under the old general section very few post have have actually been relevant to CVO. We have had everything from BBQ recipes to Banning Foxhunting, and a very Sad message from Sad all of which made great reading
Perhaps it should have been the CVO bit that should have been annexed onto a completely new section then people asking for directions or what to do in CVO on New years eve, CVO lap dancing clubs etc etc would not have been confused by the other and wider issues that have been posted including BLIP and Silves Market, if you follow my drift.
The site has somehow become a magnet for people rellocating to the Algarve etc hence the diverse membership, I think I have even corresponded with someone from the Alentejo region on one posting!
I also thought each holiday complex in CVO had its own section ?
I am totally confused, and feel if we do not holiday or own a property actually in CVO our membership is no longer welcome

I think you all fail to realise what is actually happening here……..the next and final stage of the forum restructuring is to make “chitchat” for members only, and any guest nonsense on “cvo general” gets automatically moderated.
However, I propose we have another “forum”: a kind of recycle bin where members can view the locked posts from guests on “cvo general” and vote on whether or not they should be unlocked and moved to “chitchat” where they can be deliberated upon freely in an open and democratic manner by all bone fide members for the world and his wife to enjoy…

Hi there Piglet!
Firstly..sorry I got your place wrong

..should have been Vale da Telha!
and I have to say.like you..I am also confused to say the least

I do think things could become terribly muddled!
Its purely a personal thing..but I felt that the General forum had a 'cosier' aspect.that folk like Piglet joined here to become part of the cvo.com community..and clearly she & maybe others are not feeling that?
Perhaps Im getting it all wrong but now..before posting anything..we'll be sitting here thinking "where do I post this?"..if it doesnt contain any mention of Carvoeiro?
are we to take Digger's post 'tongue in cheek'? or should i simply say
"Nice bit of sarcasm Dig!"

...........………….and then one afternoon a week a celebrity member could invite a special guest guest into “chitchat” to talk openly and anonymously on a topic of their choice.

Maybe to clarify things, the general topic should be changed to General Algarve (would that make it easier for everyone)
And then the chit chat topic would be for all other unrelated topics.
I'm sure that there isn't a strict rule that states that any post not referring to CVO will be removed but it seems to be an issue with a lot of us so why not make it more generic.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Hi thunderbolt
Sorry if some of us are a little bit thick, its me being a woman, you have absolutely no idea what it is like to function on one brain cell
(I can feel this thread is going to go off on a tangeant)
No, seriously your explanation sounds far easier to digest, than our diggers, but I think he was joking on reflection, however, I can never be sure

haha piglet. Nice one! But I am a woman too!
No offense meant but I did just think that everyone was getting a bit too het up about something which would easily be resolved by renaming it.

oh my god! Hope you didn't all think I was a bloke!
If you read my other posts, you might find it weird that I'm walking around in high heels if I'm mean to be a bloke. lol

I can see your point, in hindsight. No PMT today either
