Hello all
Just wondering if anyone else has had any trouble with sending postcards, I sent 8 around the 2nd of September and thus far only 3 have arrived
They were handed over at our hotel and paid for, not posted personally (possible mistake??)

We were in Carvoeiro from august 13th to 27th and sent cards to Uk they took 4 weeks to arrive, Holland, 6 weeks Australia 6 weeks.By contrast a birthday card in an envolope took 3 days, speaks for itself. The same thing has happened for the past 6 years.Isnt life grand, mind you it is nice to read your own card when back at work.

Anything in an envelope arrives in CVO normally 2 days from UK. Vice versa also 2 days. Anytime of year! Mike

I sent a parcel last Tuesday( to England) and it arrived on Thursday. I sent Christmas presents on the 19th of December and they arrived before the end of December. A parcel sent to me at the begining of November (from England) didn't arrive until March, having been sent back to sender (they said couldn't be delivered, wrong address) open and gifts missing. The only difference? The first address was written in crayon, the second in pen

That's what I had thought, but as they are all here, I guess not.

I thought it was well-known that postcards are low priority and so not dealt with very quickly by the postal service - this generally applies in most European countried. If you put the postcard in an envelope it would arrive in days instead of weeks.
I have found that the postal service between here and the UK is not all that bad - after some initial problems. The address we were given by the estate agent & lawyer of our house here in cvo was not quite correct. We were having all our mail re-directed form the UK and it was all building up at the sorting office in Lagoa. We went to see them and got it sorted out and now get all our mail from the UK within 3 days, including parcels.
The parcels I have sent from here have arrive in the UK within a week too.

You are right, they are low priority, that's why you expect it to take a couple of weeks, at a push a month. But 3 months is too long

never mind, here now
