Hi there,
I have been checking out the site for the last couple of days and aswell as being lighthearted I have also gained some great info for our 2 week holiday on the 7th Oct.
Now getting to the point - Will things still be open in October? We are staying in Ferrugado (sp?) which I believe is only 15 mins from CV. We have 2 yr old twins and would like to keep them entertained! Ie Zoo etc?
Thanks in advance

Fear not - most everything will be running as "normal" from 7th Oct - the "tourist " season runs till end of October and then there is golf ! till spring.
For the kids - Zoomarine - a fantastic day out for ALL ages, water parks (if its warm enough) and all the other "attractions" of the Algarve will be here for you.
You will have seen the weather from the sitecam but apparently we expect rain this weekend (we have to have it sometime).
But even "if wet" (in the village hall) -sorry I was back in England there - you should still have a great time - welcome.

Hi,
Ferrugado (Algarve-Portugal) has a nice beach ' Caneiros', for your kids to play on.......and good food is served at the beach restaurant.
I follow Iane that you will be ok. I left last friday, weather was great, food nice, attractions, shops, bars and restaurants still open.
Ferrugado is about a 5 minutes drive away from Carvoeiro Centre. It is close to each-other. Walking will take you a little longer. (20 mins?).
Enjoy your stay!

I think the times stated in the previous post are a little wayward. Allow a bit more time for the drive and walking, well......

A 20 min walk with 2yr olds would be an adventure in and of itself.

Yes, tend to agree about the distances / times between CVO and Ferragudo - far too quick!
Whilst writing, we are also visiting from Friday, but looking at a weather forecast site we are not too hopeful for decent weekend weather.
Can anyone recommend a fairly accurate site that we can check please?
Mind you, once we are there we'll just take what is sent from the skies.

Mmmmmm about the distances...... let's say I tend to walk fast....lol!
We drove by car every day so yeah walking and children might delay your travel time to 45 minutes? Next time I come I will walk the distance !
Rachel, I allways use :
http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/. very reliable and accurate weatherforecast!
take care!

http://www.metcheck.com/europe/forecast ... tionID=870 is a site I use a lot for the UK and this site can do 14days and from Portimao not Faro which the rest seem to be based on. But as someone once said on this subject, check them all out and pick the one you like! Mike
