Hi - we are visiting Rocha Brava from the end of the week. Are the restaurants/bars on site and in the general area still operating "full time" or will we need to venture into town?I only ask as we won't have a car this time to venture too far afield.
I know the Fanatic Joker will probably be open.
Cheers to all TJ

Hi Tony - The Cafe and Restaurant O Farol open on site all year round - food is lovely in O Farol and they have a guitarist for entertainment on a Monday evening.

Julios on way to beach is also open all year round and is an excellent restaurant. There are other restaurants around within walking distance that will most likely be open at this time of year.

Thanks for that, although I think I'll stay well clear of Julios, judging by the adverse comments in other sections of the forum. Friends of ours went there and were NOT impressed - other peoples comments here matched their own.

With regard to Julios - everyone to their own opinion. I personally disagree with the comments on the Forum. I have gone to Julios for the past 8 years and have never had a bad meal. As it was commented on Julios is always full - why? When I was there in the summer everybody that was leaving was re-booking for later in the week - they must be doing something right! Some people like to be fussed over! - as long as I get a good meal and good service I don't have a problem. Why don't you try it for yourself and make your own decision!

Yes, plenty of places open and we had an enjoyable time. We were surprised at the number of school age children around - surely the Government people have made steps to curb that? They were certainly English speaking and sadly frequenting a number of bars, running around a lot. What are the parent thinking about there?
Other than that, all ok and we will be returning, hopefully to RB.

Interesting point Tony - regret don't know the laws about kids in bars, or certainly up to what time, but I know it can be annoying (and dangerous where glasses are involved). And as for taking children out of school, this one just goes on and on and all the time the holiday firms, hotels, etc up their prices during holiday times it will continue. There is always an excuse that parent s can use for taking children out of school - not that we did it. Glad you had a good time.
