Robberies

Hi folks
I have been a keen follower of the forums on this site for some time now but have not been an active participant. The reason I have registered is to share some information about the recent spate of robberies from villas in the Carvoeiro area. On Tuesday this week my family's villa was robbed. Apparently the thief got into the house while the maid was there (she had left the doors open for the floors to dry) and hid until she left. The thief then helped himself to a laptap, 2 mobiles, a wallet and a camera before leaving. On discovering the robbery my daughter contacted the local police who came and took all the necessary particulars. That evening we were contacted by the police from Albufeira saying they had a man in custody and had recoverd some goods which matched the description given by my daughter. On Thursday my daughter went to the police station at Albufeira (the one in the old village near the beach) and identified the camera and one of the mobiles. The police told my daughter that they had also recovered other goods, incuding rings, a watch and at least one other mobile. The man was due to appear in court that afternoon and the police were hopeful that they might get further information from him. It seems that he may have been involved in a series of robberies. Anyway, I thought I would let the readers of this forum know about what happened, particularly if they or someone they know had been a robbery victim. Maybe the police at Albufeira have their stolen goods. Their number is 289 583310.
You never know your luck ... if I hear any more I'll post again
Thanks
