Hello there everyone, wondered if anyone could help me,first time to the Algarve, really looking forward to it, but wondered if anyone has been to a place called Areias dos Moinhos near carvoeiro?Just wondered if it was within walking distance of any bars or places to eat,or can we walk to the centre of Carvoeiro easily? It would be really great if anyone can help. Thanks :D

There are a couple of not too exciting bars in that area....its about 15 minutes walk to the centre of town..mostly downhill, but you might want to get a Taxi back ..uphill after a few drinks..it only cost £3...of course there are some nice restaurants in that area...but once again you will probably go to the town centre...much more fun.
Enjoy your stay

Try and find out the number of the villa as against the name. There's a map in the map section on this site which shows the numbers. It's probably the best area to stay as it's modern, nearer to town than most villa areas and if your in the right villa about a 12 min walk to the top of restaraunt hill. Agree with the earlier post that it's best to cab it back. Have a great time. The local bar on ADM has been moved next door to where the old supermarket used to be and is now fully A/C and well recommended for a pint and the food. Good mixture of Portuguese and Tourists make it a nice place to go.
